Qingdao: At the 3rd Belt and Road Energy Ministerial Conference, Federal Minister of Power, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, engaged in discussions with H.E. Zhang Jianhua, Administrator of the National Energy Administration of China. The discussions, aimed at deepening energy cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), highlighted ongoing and future projects designed to address Pakistan’s significant energy shortages.
According to Press Information Department, Minister Leghari and Administrator Zhang reviewed the progress of the CPEC energy projects that since 2013 have added over 8,000 MW of power to Pakistan’s grid. They expressed a mutual desire to enhance this partnership through the modernization of Pakistan’s power infrastructure. Minister Leghari also extended his condolences for the recent loss of Chinese engineers in Karachi and condemned the attack, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the safety of Chinese nationals.
