Islamabad: Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has extended greetings to the Hindu and Sikh communities on Baisakhi, emphasizing the festival’s significance as a time of harvest, new beginnings, and brotherhood. In conjunction with the celebrations, the Minister announced the development of the “Guru Nanak Motorway,” intended to serve as a “Highway of Peace and Unity” between Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur.
According to Press Information Department, the motorway project is dedicated to Sikh pilgrims globally, symbolizing Pakistan’s commitment to religious harmony. The Ministry of Communications plans to enhance the route with hotels, malls, and service areas, executing these developments under the Public-Private Partnership model. The Minister invited the global Sikh community to partner in the project, underscoring the government’s focus on facilitating safe and convenient travel for Sikh pilgrims.
