Islamabad: Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar has inaugurated a new digital Complaint Management System (CMS), mobile application, and website for the Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH), designed to improve the efficiency and transparency of handling complaints and cases.
According to Press Information Department, the inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday with representatives from FOSPAH, the National Information Technology Board (NITB), and other stakeholders in attendance. Senator Tarar emphasized the role of modern technology in simplifying access to justice, highlighting that digitalization is intended to make the complaint process more accessible and effective for citizens.
The Federal Minister stated that the CMS would enhance monitoring and management of complaints and cases, contributing to better institutional performance and accountability. The mobile application and website aim to provide citizens with easier access to FOSPAH’s services, thereby facilitating the complaint redressal process.
Senator Tarar also underscored the importance of women’s participation in societal progress and the government’s commitment to safeguarding women’s rights and providing a safe workplace environment. He acknowledged FOSPAH, NITB, and other authorities for their efforts in developing the digital system.
Ms. Fauzia Viqar, Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment, remarked that the digital system’s primary goal is to streamline the complaint process, making it more transparent and effective. The CMS will enable FOSPAH to manage complaints in a more organized manner, improving record management and case monitoring. The mobile app and website are set to enhance citizen interaction with FOSPAH.
The new system is expected to reduce reliance on manual and paper-based processes significantly, with a long-term goal of transitioning to a paperless environment. FOSPAH also plans to explore Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics for better analysis and management of complaints in the future, ensuring safeguards and oversight in the process. Ms. Viqar highlighted that these digital advancements aim to make FOSPAH more accessible and effective for citizens seeking redressal.
