Lahore, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi conducted an unannounced inspection of the Garden Town Passport Office in Lahore today, where he witnessed first-hand the positive impacts of recent administrative reforms aimed at improving the passport application process. The minister’s visit revealed a significant transformation in service delivery, marked by the absence of long queues and the notorious agent mafia, which has long plagued the office.
According to Press Information Department, the minister interacted with applicants and staff, assessing the changes and their effect on public satisfaction. Local resident Mian Dawood expressed his gratitude, noting that the improvements made after three decades were deeply appreciated by the community. “You have eliminated the agent mafia, and we are very grateful. You are in our hearts and our prayers,” Dawood told the minister.
During his visit, Naqvi also addressed specific concerns from a senior citizen, directing the Deputy Director of the Passport Office to ensure timely resolution of the issue. He further inquired about the general passport application process and ordered the office in-charge to enhance facilities for the public.
Speaking to media representatives, Minister Naqvi highlighted the success of the passport office operating 24/7, which he credited with reducing overcrowding, cutting waiting times, and eliminating unnecessary delays. “Our aim was to make the passport application process even more convenient and efficient,” Naqvi stated, underscoring his commitment to continuing improvements in service delivery.
