Karachi, The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has successfully met its revenue collection target for the first nine months of the current financial year, demonstrating robust financial performance even while issuing record-high refunds. The FBR reported a collection of Rs. 6,710 billion, marginally above the target of Rs. 6,707 billion, alongside a substantial increase in refunds issued to taxpayers.
According to Federal Board of Revenue, the period witnessed a noteworthy 30% growth in revenue collection compared to the same period in the previous year, underscoring the effectiveness of the FBR’s fiscal management. In March 2024 alone, the FBR achieved its monthly target by collecting Rs. 879 billion, with refunds for the month significantly higher at Rs. 67 billion compared to Rs. 22 billion in March 2023, reflecting a commitment to facilitating taxpayer concerns while maintaining fiscal discipline.
