Fatal Assault in Maharashtra Over IPL Match Dispute


Mumbai, A 65-year-old man, Bandopant Bapu Tibile, was beaten to death in Hanmantwadi village, Karveer area of Maharashtra, following a dispute over an Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket match. The incident led to the arrest of two individuals, Sagar Jhanjge and Balwant Jhanjge, by local police.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the altercation occurred last Wednesday when Tibile, while watching the IPL match between Mumbai and Hyderabad, commented on Mumbai’s potential loss after the dismissal of Rohit Sharma. This comment incited the attackers, who then assaulted Tibile with a wooden stick, causing serious head injuries. Tibile was later admitted to Chhatrapati Pramila Raje Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.



Following the incident, Karveer Police took prompt action, detaining the suspects and presenting them before a local court. They have been remanded to police custody pending further investigation into the case.
