Islamabad: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan announced the expansion of the existing two-lane, 53-kilometre section of the Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad Motorway M-4 into a three-lane carriageway. The project, aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow, is set for completion one month after commencement.

According to Press Information Department, during a high-level meeting of the National Highway Authority, Federal Minister Khan emphasized the importance of maintaining traffic flow by diverting northbound traffic to the southbound side during construction. He also issued directives for the immediate upgradation of the proposed service area between Faisalabad and Pindi Bhattian and emphasized strict compliance with deadlines to avoid penalties for contractors.

In addition to the motorway expansion, Khan directed the installation of full illumination on the road from Islamabad International Airport to Tarnol Interchange to improve security. He also recommended water-efficient tree plantations along Airport Road. The Federal Minister discussed additional infrastructure projects, including the construction of the road from Ring Road to Manga Mandi and the installation of new toll plazas. The meeting included participation from the Federal Secretary for Communications and Chairman NHA, alongside officers from various divisions.
