Islamabad: The European Union’s High Representative and Vice President, Kaja Kallas, acknowledged Pakistan’s role in regional peace efforts during a conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar. The dialogue highlighted the recent signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), a key step in the pursuit of stability in the Middle East.
According to Radio Pakistan, Kallas expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives that led to the MOU’s signing. However, she conveyed serious concerns regarding recent ceasefire violations in the region and underscored the importance of keeping communication channels open to prevent further tensions.
During the discussion, Deputy Prime Minister Dar informed the EU High Representative about Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic endeavors aimed at establishing a comprehensive peace framework in the Middle East. He emphasized the need for all parties involved to adhere to the ceasefire agreement to ensure long-term stability.
Both parties agreed on the importance of maintaining close communication as developments in the region continue to unfold.
