Enhanced Road and Rail Links with Turkey Advocated by Pakistani President


Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari has advocated for the strengthening of road and railway links with Turkey, underscoring the necessity for enhanced connectivity to boost bilateral relations and people-to-people engagement between the two nations.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in discussions with Turkey’s Chief of General Staff, General Metin Gurak, and his accompanying delegation, President Zardari expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to deepen cooperative ties with Turkey across diverse fields. The President called for greater cultural interaction, particularly through the exchange of literary and poetic works, to foster closer ties between the populations of both countries.



President Zardari conveyed his contentment with the current state of bilateral cooperation, noting that Pakistan-Turkey relations are progressing positively, highlighted by frequent high-level visits and exchanges.



The meeting, which took place in Islamabad, also saw the presence of Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and Turkey’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Mehmet Pacaci.
