Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a reminder to all Members of Parliament and Provincial Assemblies to submit their annual Statements of Assets and Liabilities by December 31, 2024. This includes declarations for themselves, their spouses, and dependent children as of June 30, 2024, using the designated Form-B.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan, the requirement to submit these details is mandated under Section 137 of the Elections Act, 2017. Failure to comply with this directive will result in the publication of the members’ names on January 1, who have not submitted their documents. Further non-compliance by January 15 will lead to the suspension of membership, which will remain in effect until the statements are filed. Additionally, any member who submits false information may face charges of corrupt practices.
Form-B and its instructions are available without cost at the ECP Secretariat in Islamabad, provincial ECP offices, and the secretariats of the Senate, National Assembly, and Provincial Assemblies. The form can also be downloaded from the ECP’s official website.
