Education Ministry Partners with Psychology Institute for Remedial Therapy Services


Islamabad: In a significant move towards enhancing educational inclusivity, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEand PT) signed a contract to implement “Provision of Remedial Therapy Services” across all institutions under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE). The initiative, in collaboration with the National Institute of Psychology (NIP) Center of Excellence under Quaid e Azam University, aims to support students with learning disabilities.



According to Press Information Department, the agreement was formalized by Prof. Dr. Rubina Hanif, Director of NIP, during a ceremony attended by Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Federal Minister for Education, Nadeem Mahbub, Secretary MoFEPT, and FDE officials. This initiative aligns with the Dyslexia Bill 2022, focusing on interventions for students with learning challenges. A team of 60 remedial therapists and three expert coordinators will deliver diagnostic testing and evidence-based therapeutic support. By integrating psychological care and teacher capacity-building, the project aims to establish a framework for students with varied learning needs to succeed within the formal education system.
