ECO Chief’s Visit to Pakistan to Focus on Strengthening Regional Cooperation

Islamabad: The Secretary-General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, is set to begin a three-day official visit to Pakistan starting Tuesday. The visit aims to bolster regional cooperation and development within the ECO framework.

During his stay, Dr. Khan will engage with key Pakistani leadership, including the President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Federal Ministers. These meetings will center around the presentation of ECO’s initiatives and Dr. Khan’s reform agenda, which seeks to revitalize the organization and enhance its relations with member states.

The discussions are expected to focus on expanding regional cooperation efforts, with particular emphasis on strengthening ties with Pakistan. The visit underscores the organization’s commitment to fostering collaborative development among its member states.

After completing his engagements in Islamabad, Dr. Khan will travel to Lahore. There, he will participate in the 294th Meeting of the ECO Council of Permanent Representatives, which includes representatives from member states. The meeting is scheduled to take place from the 12th to the 15th of this month.
