ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has sanctioned several technical supplementary grants aimed at enhancing infrastructure, public service, and security sectors. During a recent meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, the committee allocated significant funding to various critical projects.
According to Radio Pakistan, the ECC approved a total of five billion rupees for the Directorate General Immigration and Passports. In addition, a technical supplementary grant of 2,192.8 million rupees was allocated to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The committee also sanctioned 2,124.2 million rupees for three development projects, which include the construction of a model prison in H-16, Islamabad, the National Police Hospital Project, and the establishment of a Foreign National Security Cell Dashboard and Allied Facilities.
Furthermore, the committee approved 240.5 million rupees for the Anti-Narcotics Force to facilitate the repair of helicopters, thereby supporting operational requirements. In the agricultural sector, the ECC endorsed a summary for SNGPL-based urea manufacturing plants, specifically Fatima Fertilizer and Agritech, extending operations up to the end of the current month.
