DPM Stresses Need to Enhance Ports Connectivity for Trade Advantages


ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has stressed the importance of improving ports connectivity to fully leverage Pakistan’s strategic geographical location.



According to Radio Pakistan, Dar chaired a high-level meeting in Islamabad to discuss the enhancement of port connectivity. He highlighted that Pakistan’s position at the junction of Central, South, and West Asia is a valuable asset that should be utilized effectively.



The meeting included a comprehensive briefing by the Secretary of Maritime Affairs, focusing on the current status and capacity of Pakistani ports. Participants reviewed strategies to develop and increase the efficiency and competitiveness of these ports. The discussions also aimed at improving port connectivity, streamlining operational processes, enhancing inter-agency coordination, facilitating trade and logistics, and implementing reforms to establish Pakistan’s ports as efficient regional trade gateways.
