Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has called for a renewed focus on the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to enhance regional connectivity, sustainable development, and the collective well-being of the South Asian population. Dar emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles outlined in the SAARC Charter during his discussion with SAARC Secretary General Golam Sarwar.
According to Radio Pakistan, Dar highlighted the considerable demographic and economic potential within the region and praised the Secretary General’s efforts to foster regional collaboration. He also reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the SAARC process. In response, the Secretary General expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s ongoing backing of SAARC and its associated institutions.
