Islamabad: DIG Security Rana Umar Farooq formally assumed his role and commenced an immediate evaluation of security operations, prioritizing the protection of critical installations and diplomatic missions in the capital. According to Islamabad Capital Police, Farooq chaired a pivotal high-level meeting at the Diplomatic Enclave, focusing on enhancing security protocols.
The meeting, attended by SSP VIP Security Capt. (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider and senior security division officers, included extensive briefings from SPs of different units. These briefings covered security strategies for the Diplomatic Enclave, Red Zone, External Red Zone, and various sensitive buildings.
Rana Umar Farooq evaluated current security challenges and issued directives to bolster security measures. He emphasized the non-negotiable priority of safeguarding important installations and diplomatic missions, insisting on zero tolerance for negligence.
He instructed officers to tighten security arrangements in key areas, aligning them with modern standards, and stressed continuous monitoring of suspicious activities. Discussions also covered enhancing surveillance at entry and exit points, refining checking systems, and improving emergency response and coordination to mitigate potential threats.
Farooq assured that all available resources would be deployed to ensure the security of citizens, diplomatic staff, and strategic sites, emphasizing an uncompromising stance on security matters.
