ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, conducted a thorough inspection of security arrangements for Muharram at various Imambargahs and venues of religious gatherings, emphasizing the importance of heightened vigilance and professionalism among police personnel.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the DIG’s visit focused on assessing the security protocols, which included scrutinizing entry and exit points, evaluating the effectiveness of walk-through gates, and overseeing the CCTV monitoring systems. He also reviewed the deployment of police personnel and other protective measures in place to ensure the safety of the public.
During his visits, DIG Tariq met with officers and personnel on duty, underscoring the significance of remaining vigilant throughout the Muharram-ul-Haram period. He reiterated the priority of protecting citizens’ lives and property, warning against negligence or carelessness in duty performance.
He instructed senior officers to guarantee foolproof security at all Imambargahs and Majalis venues by strictly implementing security standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining close coordination with event organizers, and adopting prompt strategies to manage any emergency situations.
Reaffirming the commitment of Islamabad Police, DIG Tariq stated that all available resources are being utilized to ensure a peaceful environment, allowing religious gatherings to occur safely and securely during Muharram.
