ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, convened a high-level meeting to strategize security and crime control initiatives in anticipation of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting was attended by senior police officials, including SSP Investigations Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, and other key personnel. DIG Tariq instructed officers to implement comprehensive security protocols at markets, mosques, and recreational areas during Chand Raat and Eid days. He emphasized enhanced checks at city entry and exit points.

The directives included a crackdown on activities such as aerial firing, hooliganism, and one-wheeling, along with the apprehension of proclaimed offenders and habitual criminals. Additionally, effective patrolling strategies involving foot patrols, horse-mounted units, and vehicular surveillance were discussed to ensure market safety and smooth traffic flow near shopping centers.

Security measures for Eid prayers were highlighted, requiring strict implementation of body search protocols at mosques. Special police forces are to be stationed at public parks, graveyards, and other sensitive sites. DIG Tariq also urged officers to maintain oversight over their teams and address the welfare needs of the force during the festive period.

The commitment to safeguarding citizens’ lives and properties, maintaining order, and enhancing public facilities remains a core objective for the Islamabad Police.
