DIG Islamabad Calls for Enhanced Counter-Terrorism Measures and Coordination

Islamabad: Deputy Inspector General of Police Islamabad Ali Waseem visited the Counter-Terrorism Department Headquarters to receive a comprehensive briefing on counter-terrorism strategies and intelligence-based operations. During his visit, he emphasized the need for strengthening operations against terrorist and criminal activities, enhancing intelligence-based operations, and utilizing modern technology to bolster counter-terrorism efforts.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the DIG was briefed on the Counter-Terrorism Department’s performance, ongoing operations against terrorist elements, and the prevailing security situation. He highlighted the importance of improving coordination among all relevant departments and law enforcement agencies to effectively address terrorism.

A subsequent meeting via Zoom, chaired by DIG Waseem, included officers from the Islamabad Counter-Terrorism Department and representatives from other provinces. The meeting focused on reviewing CTD’s performance, security measures, and inter-provincial coordination.

The DIG directed that counter-terrorism efforts be further intensified, with effective monitoring of terrorist and criminal activities. He urged the use of all available resources to protect citizens and maintain peace and security in Islamabad.
