DG Safe City Reviews Expansion Project, Focuses on AI-Based Traffic Management

ISLAMABAD: In a strategic move to enhance urban safety and traffic management, Director General Safe City and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joiya chaired a pivotal meeting to assess the progress of the Safe City Expansion Project. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting included officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA), One Network (Private) Limited, and Safe City Islamabad.

The meeting focused on the deployment of AI-powered surveillance technologies and smart policing strategies to automate traffic monitoring at key intersections. The initiative aims to improve traffic law enforcement, optimize traffic signal management, and ensure smooth traffic flow during peak hours. DG Safe City/DIG Traffic emphasized the priority of delivering a safe and efficient traffic system through modern technology, projecting that the project’s completion will significantly mitigate traffic challenges and enhance travel experiences for citizens.

In a related development, DG Safe City/DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joiya conducted another meeting with officers from various Islamabad Police stations, including SP Operations Safe City Captain (R) Hamza Humayun and Director IT Atif Abbas. Officers were instructed to maximize the use of police software applications, maintain continuous operation of the Safe City Control Room, and ensure prompt resolution of public complaints. These measures are aimed at enhancing transparency and public confidence in police services.
