Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar convened a meeting to assess the current situation of perishable food items, focusing on ensuring domestic supply and exploring options for the export of surplus produce. The meeting aimed to address challenges posed by changing regional trade dynamics and disruptions in traditional trade routes.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Committee deliberated on alternative export pathways, including sea routes and entry into potential new markets. Exporters’ proposals were discussed, highlighting the necessity for improved storage facilities, logistics, and market access. The discussions also involved assessing global demand and pricing trends to support informed decision-making and enhance Pakistan’s export competitiveness.
