Islamabad: In a recent high-level meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar underscored the government’s resolve to implement the Prime Minister’s austerity measures. The announcement came during the 5th meeting of the Steering Committee on Fuel Subsidy and Austerity, where participants evaluated the progress of the fuel subsidy initiative and the broader austerity agenda.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of adhering to these measures in both letter and spirit. The meeting saw attendance from several notable figures, including Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, the Minister of State for Finance, and Federal Secretaries for Petroleum and IT. Officials from provincial departments and the governments of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan were also present, reflecting the wide-ranging interest and implications of the committee’s work.
