Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has pledged Pakistan’s commitment to the principles of the United Nations Charter during a meeting with UN Secretary-General candidate Rebeca Grynspan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting took place in Islamabad, where Ishaq Dar emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, along with a respect for international law and treaties. He stressed the significance of peacefully resolving disputes through the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions to achieve enduring global peace.
Dar pointedly noted the need to address the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and the Palestine issue, reinforcing the importance of these matters in the context of international peace efforts. Additionally, he highlighted the UN system’s pivotal role in furthering the global development agenda, underscoring its significance to Pakistan’s foreign policy objectives.
