Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan Engages Singapore for Seafarers’ Repatriation

SINGAPORE: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has sought the assistance of Singapore in the repatriation of eleven Pakistani and twenty Iranian seafarers whose vessels were seized by U.S. authorities near Singaporean waters.

According to Radio Pakistan, Dar has communicated with Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan to discuss the welfare and return of the seafarers. He emphasized Pakistan’s ongoing coordination with U.S. authorities and other involved parties to ensure the safety and prompt repatriation of the Pakistani nationals.

In his efforts, Dar also engaged in discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, highlighting the cooperative measures between Pakistan and Iran on the issue. Dar assured that Pakistan is prepared to facilitate the safe return of Iranian nationals through its territory and expressed gratitude for the support extended by Singapore in these efforts.
