Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar engaged in a telephone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss the regional situation. The discussion centered around the importance of de-escalation and restraint in line with the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) from June 2026, as well as the necessity of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving regional disputes.
According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister Dar emphasized the need for all parties involved to adhere to the principles of the Islamabad MoU, advocating for diplomatic solutions to ensure long-term peace and stability in the region. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to contributing constructively towards regional peace efforts.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close communication to further these objectives.
