Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has urged the nation to unite and reject division in pursuit of a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan. This call for unity comes as the country marks the one-year anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, an event that Dar described as a significant milestone in the nation’s history.
According to Radio Pakistan, Dar’s message paid tribute to the armed forces for their bravery, emphasizing their disciplined and determined defense of the homeland. He highlighted that the anniversary of Marka-e-Haq symbolizes a narrative of courage, unity, and steadfast resolve, where both soldiers and citizens stood together against adversity.
Reflecting on the past year’s events, Dar recalled the leadership of Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif, noting the country’s calm and principled response to aggression. He stressed that Pakistan’s actions were deliberate and guided by principles rather than emotions, sending a strong message about the nation’s commitment to peace and its refusal to compromise on dignity, sovereignty, and independence.
Dar also pointed to the broader regional context, stating that lasting peace in South Asia requires addressing core issues, particularly the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir conflict in line with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of its people. He reaffirmed that any threat to Pakistan would be countered with national unity and resolute strength.
The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to regional peace and stability, advocating for dialogue, diplomacy, and the resolution of disputes through justice and mutual respect.
