SHANGHAI: Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, leading the Pakistan delegation, attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai earlier today. The event was addressed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to supporting inclusive and equitable global AI governance. This includes advocating for broader access to emerging technologies and capacity-building initiatives for developing countries. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of international cooperation to bridge the digital divide and ensure the benefits of artificial intelligence reach all communities globally.
