New York: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has arrived in New York for a three-day official visit to the United States. During his visit, he is set to participate in a high-level United Nations Security Council Open Debate focused on the “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-centered International System.” This debate is being held under China’s presidency of the UN Security Council.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and senior United Nations officials during his visit. Upon his arrival in New York, he was welcomed by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, and the Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Aamer Ahmad Atozai.
