Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has urged political factions to set aside minor interests in favor of national unity. He specifically criticized the timing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) recent protests, accusing them of undermining the country’s international reputation just as Islamabad prepares to host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dar condemned PTI’s actions as detrimental to Pakistan’s global standing. He highlighted that the protests were strategically planned to coincide with the upcoming SCO summit, aiming to disrupt the event and hamper Pakistan’s diplomatic engagements. Dar also criticized PTI’s tactic of inviting a foreign minister from another country to join the protest, labeling it a political stunt that harms Pakistan’s national image.
