Karachi: Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad affirmed the critical role of youth in shaping the city’s future during a meeting with students from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University. He underscored that youth education and training are vital for the city’s progress and prosperity, highlighting that their active participation in civic affairs can lead to improved decision-making and drive Karachi’s development through contemporary perspectives.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the Deputy Mayor highlighted the Pakistan Peoples Party’s commitment to prioritizing youth involvement across various sectors. He stated that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation remains accessible to students, offering them insight into the civic system to foster their role in the city’s advancement. This message was conveyed during a study tour visit by the university students to the Corporation’s head office on Wednesday. The event was attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister Sindh Najmi Alam, council members, Director of the City Institute of Image Management Muhammad Shahid, SM Ali Jafri Advocate, and trainer Mukhtar Zaman.
During the visit, students were briefed on the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s evolution and informed about ongoing efforts by the current Mayor and Deputy Mayor to enhance city facilities. They received detailed explanations about various departments, operational systems, urban planning, land records, and municipal services. The itinerary included visits to the Municipal Commissioner Office, 1339 Complaint Center, Council Hall, and other local government departments. Deputy Mayor Murad addressed student inquiries, providing insights into urban planning and administrative structures.
Emphasizing the importance of such educational initiatives, the Deputy Mayor advocated for continued study tours from different universities to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, noting that these visits are invaluable for students to learn and develop their skills.
