Karachi: Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad visited the Karachi Zoo to conduct a detailed review of the current arrangements for animal feed, care, and cleanliness. According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Zoo Director Ikhlaq Ahmed Yousufzai provided a briefing to the Deputy Mayor during the visit.
The Deputy Mayor directed that measures to enhance animal care at the zoo be expedited. He underscored the importance of ensuring adequate food and water supply during the summer season and emphasized the need for an effective sanitation system. He declared that the quality of animal feed must not be compromised.
Salman Abdullah Murad further stressed the importance of providing a better environment and improved facilities for the citizens of Karachi. He announced that a phased plan is being developed to upgrade zoo facilities to meet international standards. Additionally, he indicated that the monitoring system would be enhanced to boost institutional performance.
The Deputy Mayor reaffirmed his commitment to providing a healthy and safe recreational environment, stating that continuous instructions are being given to relevant departments to elevate their performance. These efforts aim to transform Karachi Zoo into a model recreational facility for the city’s residents.
