Islamabad: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasar recently engaged in a series of meetings with delegations from government institutions, professional bodies, social welfare organizations, and civil society at Parliament House. The discussions addressed significant national issues including law and order, mineral development, interfaith harmony, social welfare, and the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to the Senate of Pakistan, Mr. Nasar met with Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Operations Islamabad Police, to discuss public security in the federal capital. Emphasizing the state’s responsibility in ensuring safety and order, Mr. Nasar urged the use of modern technologies to enhance public security and policing services. In a separate meeting, Shahid Qureshi, Director General of Pakistan Minerals Authority, briefed Mr. Nasar on the agency’s initiatives, highlighting the economic and employment potential of mineral resources in regions like Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Deputy Chairman also held discussions with the National Peace Committee for Interfaith Harmony and Human Rights Pakistan, which briefed him on efforts to foster interfaith harmony and protect minority rights. Additionally, Muhammad Sadiq, CEO of Hijazi Welfare Foundation, outlined the foundation’s activities in education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation.

Mr. Nasar praised the contributions of governmental and welfare institutions towards social cohesion and public welfare. He outlined the government’s commitments to peace, economic stability, and the Kashmir cause, reiterating the Pakistan Muslim League (N)’s advocacy for Kashmiri rights at national and international levels. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among state institutions and welfare organizations to achieve national unity and development.
