Islamabad: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan met with a delegation of local representatives from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the urgent need for a resolution to the Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations resolutions. Khan underscored that the Kashmir issue is central to the Pakistani agenda and stressed the unified stance of all political parties in supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

According to Senate of Pakistan, the delegation, including Javed Rathore, Sardar Zulfiqar, Sardar Mumtaz Khan, and Shafeeq Ahmed Butt, briefed Khan on the public issues and developmental needs of Azad Kashmir. Khan reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to drawing international attention to human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and vowed continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri cause.

Khan highlighted the need for improvements in health, education, and forestry sectors in Azad Kashmir, which he identified as crucial for sustainable development. He assured the delegation of coordinated efforts with institutions and public representatives to enhance development and public welfare in the region.

The Deputy Chairman also discussed broader regional and international developments, welcoming diplomatic progress between Iran and the United States. He noted Pakistan’s role in fostering peace and stability, which has been recognized by the international community. Khan maintained that dialogue is key to resolving conflicts and expressed optimism for peaceful resolutions to regional disputes, including the Kashmir issue.

The delegation expressed gratitude for Khan’s commitment to the Kashmir cause and his focus on the development and welfare of the people of Azad Kashmir.
