Defence Minister Stresses State Loyalty Amid Azad Kashmir Protests


ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has underscored the significance of loyalty to the state as a prerequisite for initiating dialogue, in response to protests by the banned Joint Action Committee in Azad Kashmir. The minister’s remarks, shared on the social media platform X, highlighted the necessity of complete obedience to the state for constructive engagement.



According to Radio Pakistan, Asif urged individuals in Azad Kashmir, whom he described as pursuing a specific agenda, to familiarize themselves with Article 5 of the Constitution of Pakistan. This article mandates unwavering loyalty to the state from every citizen. The Defence Minister also referenced a verse from Surah Al-Ma’idah to reinforce his message.
