CTO Islamabad Addresses Fare Concerns in Meeting with Transport Association

ISLAMABAD: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk led a pivotal meeting at Safe City Islamabad with the Transport Association to address concerns over transporters allegedly charging excessive fares. The meeting included key figures like SP Traffic Majid Iqbal, SP Saddar Zone Kazim Naqvi, SP CTD Khalid Mehmood Awan, alongside other traffic police officers and association members.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the main objective of the session was to identify transporters imposing higher than permissible fares and to enforce strict legal measures against such practices. During the meeting, CTO Virk emphasized the importance of adhering to fare regulations, stating that any breaches would face stringent legal consequences.

The transport representatives were also tasked with the responsibility of alerting the police regarding passenger movements and any irregular situations to maintain public safety and convenience. CTO Virk reiterated that ensuring quality and respectful travel services remains a primary focus of the Islamabad Police, with zero tolerance for any legal violations.

All attendees underscored their commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing travel services and improving the traffic system, with the goal of making Islamabad’s transport network more efficient and organized.
