Washington: A rare red diamond, hailed as one of the most exceptional gemstones globally, has been unveiled at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. The 2.33-carat jewel, part of the Winston Red Diamond and Winston Fancy Color Diamond collection, is now a centerpiece in the museum’s renowned gem collection.
The ruby-colored diamond is considered a one in 25 million find, underscoring its rarity and significance. It joins 40 other colored diamonds in the collection, with hues ranging from teal to pink, offering visitors a unique spectrum of natural color.
The collection was generously presented by Ronald Winston, son of the legendary jeweler Harry Winston, further cementing the family’s legacy in the world of rare and exquisite gems.
