This announcement was made by Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, during a press briefing in Karachi. The sighting signifies the start of Zil Hajj, 1447 AH, beginning tomorrow.
According to Radio Pakistan, the declaration followed a meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, where observations of the moon were confirmed. The sighting signals the anticipation of Eid-ul-Adha, an important religious occasion observed by Muslims worldwide.
