Chinese Delegation Visits Pakistan to Mark 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif welcomed a Chinese delegation led by Cai Dafeng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), to Islamabad. The delegation’s visit marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, highlighting the longstanding partnership between the two nations.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting included key Pakistani officials such as Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and other ministers. Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, noting its foundation on mutual trust and shared interests. He extended greetings to Chinese leaders and reiterated Pakistan’s support for China’s core interests, while acknowledging China’s support for Pakistan’s sovereignty.



Prime Minister Sharif praised the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as pivotal for Pakistan’s socio-economic development and expressed commitment to advancing its next phase. He also acknowledged China’s role in promoting regional peace and stability, reaffirming Pakistan’s dedication to cooperation.



Cai Dafeng expressed gratitude for the welcome and reiterated China’s commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan. He affirmed China’s support for Pakistan’s regional peace efforts and emphasized the enduring Pakistan-China relationship as essential for regional stability.
