LAHORE: A delegation from Chinese companies Kunlun Group and Sunder Green Group met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to finalize agreements for launching solar panel manufacturing in Lahore and sending 50,000 students to China for vocational and industrial training.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the meeting also resulted in an approval in principle for a 1,000-acre industrial estate in Lahore and discussions on technology transfer for producing petrochemical products from coal in Punjab. Chief Minister Sharif assured support for both Chinese and local investors to promote industrialization, highlighting that the new projects are expected to create approximately 18,000 jobs in the region. She emphasized the government’s “Start Today” policy, aimed at fostering industrial growth by supporting entrepreneurs rather than engaging directly in business activities.
The Chinese delegation included notable figures such as Wang Jin Hunan Sheng, CEO of Inner Mongolia Coal Mine, and Zhao Gangbo, CEO of an investment company, alongside representatives from Sunder Green Group and other local companies.
