Chinese Companies Show Investment Interest in Punjab During High-Level Meeting


Lahore: A 17-member delegation from the Chinese Business Council Pakistan met with Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain at PSIC House, Lahore, to discuss potential investments in Punjab. The delegation, led by Mr. Chen Qiang Jiang of Zhongjian Trading Company China, expressed interest in investing in various sectors including the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park in Sheikhupura.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the meeting highlighted investment opportunities and incentives in Punjab’s Special Economic Zones. Chaudhry Shafay Hussain detailed ongoing projects, such as the nearing completion of a VIVO Mobile Phone manufacturing plant in Faisalabad and operational factories for electric vehicles. The minister also noted future developments like a Pharmaceutical Valley and an international-standard hotel at the business park.



The minister emphasized Punjab’s conducive environment for investment, supported by a new policy allowing long-term leases for industrial units. He encouraged Chinese companies to invest, assuring government support and facility provision. Mr. Chen Qiang Jiang acknowledged the favorable conditions in Punjab, stating that more Chinese companies are prepared to invest in the region.
