Lahore, In a move to alleviate economic pressure on residents, Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman has mandated a price reduction for bread in Jhang, Chiniot, and Kasur. The decision was made during a video conference with Deputy Commissioners, focusing on governance improvements and the enforcement of new pricing directives.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the Chief Secretary outlined that the bread price adjustment follows a decrease in flour costs, reflecting the administration’s responsiveness to market changes. This pricing strategy is part of a broader initiative by Chief Minister Punjab’s administration to enhance service delivery and ensure transparency in governance. The meeting underscored the autonomy given to administrative officers in their operational areas, emphasizing accountability and performance monitoring as key aspects of the provincial governance model.
The session also addressed broader governance reforms under the Chief Minister’s Sathra Punjab program, aimed at establishing a new model at the Union Council level.
