Peshawar, On the auspicious occasion of Easter, Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, extended heartfelt greetings to the Christian community, emphasizing the significance of the festival and the constructive role of minorities in the societal fabric of Pakistan. His message underscored the spirit of inclusivity and the constitutional safeguards ensuring equal rights and freedoms for all citizens.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chaudhry reiterated the commitment of the provincial government to the welfare, protection of lives, property, and constitutional rights of the minority communities residing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He highlighted the Constitution of Pakistan’s provisions that guarantee freedom of worship, rituals, and the celebration of festivals, affirming the state’s obligation to uphold these rights without discrimination.
In light of the current national and international climate, the Chief Secretary also called for the promotion of inter-religious harmony at all societal levels. He stressed the importance of unity and peace among different religious groups, recognizing it as essential for the progress and stability of the nation.
