Chairman Senate’s Visit to Kuala Lumpur Focuses on Islamic Unity and Interfaith Harmony


Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has arrived in Kuala Lumpur to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference, where he is scheduled to address the participants on key issues facing the Islamic world. During his visit, Gilani held a significant meeting with Sheikh Afifuddin Jilani, a noted Islamic scholar.



The discussions between Gilani and Sheikh Afifuddin centered on the challenges confronting the Islamic community and the importance of unity among Muslim nations. Gilani emphasized the need for collective efforts to counter Islamophobia and enhance interfaith harmony. He praised Sheikh Afifuddin for his role in fostering Islamic values and tolerance.



Sheikh Afifuddin extended an invitation to Gilani to visit the shrine of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani in Baghdad, an invitation that Gilani accepted, noting it would be an honor. Gilani highlighted the importance of Sheikh Afifuddin’s academic and spiritual contributions to the Muslim Ummah and underscored the need for effective measures to address global challenges.



Gilani and Sheikh Afifuddin agreed on the necessity of continued cooperation to combat negative propaganda against Muslims globally and to work towards the welfare of the Muslim community.
