Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani met with key Pakistani-American business and health representatives to discuss enhanced collaboration between the diaspora in the United States and Pakistan. The meeting was centered on leveraging the expertise and resources of overseas Pakistanis to aid the socio-economic development of the country.
According to Senate of Pakistan, the meeting took place at Chairman Gillani’s residence, where he hosted Mr. Asad Malik, President and CEO of Amerilodge Group, and Dr. Ghaus Muhammad Malik, Executive Vice Chair of Neurosurgery at Henry Ford Health. Chairman Gillani acknowledged the significant contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in the USA, particularly in business, healthcare, and investment sectors.
During the discussions, Mr. Asad Malik and Dr. Ghaus Malik updated the Chairman on the ongoing initiatives led by the diaspora. They expressed their interest in forming partnerships with the Government of Pakistan to boost investment, healthcare cooperation, and community engagement. Both parties concurred on the importance of structured engagement with the diaspora to tap into their expertise, capital, and networks for Pakistan’s advancement.
Chairman Gillani assured that the Senate of Pakistan would fully support efforts to facilitate such collaborations, reinforcing the role of overseas Pakistanis as a crucial link in strengthening Pakistan-US relations.
