Islamabad: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, met with Ather Zahid, a Pakistani professional wrestler known for his international achievements, at the Parliament House. Zahid is noted for being the first Saudi-born Pakistani wrestler to represent Pakistan on a global platform.
According to Senate of Pakistan, during the meeting, Gilani extended congratulations to Zahid for his accomplishments in the wrestling arena and expressed best wishes for his future endeavors. He acknowledged Zahid’s contributions to raising Pakistan’s profile through his participation in international competitions. Gilani remarked on the role of sports in promoting peace and harmony among nations and highlighted athletes as ambassadors who inspire people and elevate the country’s global standing.
