Islamabad: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, commemorated the Global Day of Parents by honoring the crucial role parents play in shaping individuals and contributing to societal strength. He emphasized the significance of parental guidance and sacrifices in fostering strong families and prosperous nations.

According to Senate of Pakistan, Gilani highlighted the elevated status Islam accords to parents, underscoring the importance of treating them with kindness, respect, and obedience, as emphasized in the Holy Qur’an. He noted the religious and moral responsibilities of caring for parents, especially in their old age, aligning with the teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) about the virtues of serving parents.

Gilani urged the Pakistani nation, particularly the youth, to express gratitude towards parents, recognizing their sacrifices and upholding values of love and care. He stressed that a society rooted in strong family values is essential for national progress and social harmony, reinforcing that the family institution is a cornerstone of a compassionate and stable society.
