Chairman Senate Calls for Global Dialogue and Unity at “Paigham-e-Islam” Conference


Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani delivered a comprehensive address at the “Paigham-e-Islam” Conference, emphasizing Islam’s universal message of peace, compassion, and tolerance, and called for global dialogue to achieve unity.



According to Press Information Department, the Chairman commended the conference organizers for their timely initiative and highlighted Islam’s teachings of justice and empathy. He stressed the importance of projecting Islam’s true message in a divided world and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace through dialogue rather than confrontation.



Chairman Gilani acknowledged the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and others in easing regional tensions. He reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to a comprehensive peace based on trust and dialogue, and highlighted his role in the Inter Parliamentary Speakers Conference as a platform for fostering global cooperation.



He also emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties within the Muslim world, recalling Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s historic Islamic Summit as a foundation of unity. The Chairman proposed enhanced coordination among key international forums to develop frameworks for peaceful dispute resolution.



Highlighting Pakistan’s approach to security, he mentioned operations like Marka-e-Haq as examples of the country’s commitment to sovereignty and peace. Concluding, Gilani urged the international community to pursue peace and prosperity collectively, with Pakistan ready to lead by example.
