Islamabad: Marking World Hepatitis Day 2026, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has urged for a united national effort to eradicate hepatitis, highlighting the importance of increased awareness, early diagnosis, and timely treatment as critical components for safeguarding public health and realizing a future free from hepatitis.
According to Press Information Department, the Chairman Senate conveyed his message on the occasion, which is observed under the theme “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down.” He emphasized the necessity of dismantling obstacles to awareness, testing, and treatment. Gilani pointed out that hepatitis, though silent, is a preventable disease, and concerted efforts from the government, healthcare professionals, civil society, and citizens are essential to meet the global objective of eliminating viral hepatitis by 2030.
The Chairman Senate encouraged all Pakistanis to implement preventative measures, undergo testing, and motivate others to pursue early medical intervention. He also reaffirmed the Senate’s dedication to advocating for policies that enhance public health and guarantee equitable access to quality healthcare for all citizens.
