Islamabad: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved five significant development projects during its recent meeting, chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal. The projects, collectively valued at Rs. 60.259 billion, aim to bolster sectors such as health, science and technology, and transport and communications, aligning with the government’s URAAN Pakistan initiative for economic reform and growth.

According to Press Information Department, the CDWP approved three projects worth Rs. 11.714 billion and recommended two projects totaling Rs. 48.545 billion for further consideration by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). The approved projects include the establishment of a medical and nursing college in Gilgit, a National Defence University campus in Islamabad, and a road construction project in Orakzai District. Meanwhile, projects for Karachi’s neighborhood improvement and Gwadar’s water supply were referred to ECNEC for additional deliberation.

The meeting, attended by senior government officials and representatives from federal ministries and provincial governments, focused on initiatives that reflect the broader development vision of URAAN Pakistan, emphasizing human capital development, governance modernization, infrastructure enhancement, and sustainable economic growth.
