CCPO Lahore Launches Crackdown on Beggars, Swindlers, and Kite Flyers


LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana has initiated a crackdown on professional beggars, swindlers, and kite flyers, while directing police to enhance measures against thefts in crime hotspots and on public transport. The orders were issued during a meeting reviewing the performance of Iqbal Town and Saddar divisions, focusing on law and order and crime control measures.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the meeting assessed the crime situation in both divisions, with the CCPO expressing satisfaction with the police teams’ efforts. Kamyana emphasized the necessity to prevent professional beggars and swindlers from operating at traffic signals and called for intensified actions against organized groups involved in these activities.



He insisted on strict compliance with government directives against kite flying and ordered action against violators of the Kite Flying Act. Additionally, Kamyana highlighted the importance of professional training for security guards at banks, markets, and jewelry shops to bolster security.



The CCPO further directed the deployment of plain-clothes officers at crime-prone areas to curb thefts and stressed the protection of passengers on public transport from theft of mobile phones and other valuables. He also instructed police officers to accommodate citizens during visiting hours and inform them of alternative meeting times if required.



The meeting was attended by senior police officials, including DIG Investigation Zeeshan Raza, SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed, SSP Operations Abdullah Ahmad, and other officers from Iqbal Town and Saddar divisions.
